Continental has recently become the first tyre manufacturer to launch the extensive production of recycled polyester yarn from PET plastic bottles. This will now be implemented as a high-performance material to be used within selected sizes of Continental’s PremiumContact 6, EcoContact 6 Summer Tyre and AllSeasonContact ranges.

This ground-breaking development, named ContiRe.Tex, completely replaces conventional polyester in tyre carcass and further enhances the company’s strict policy of only using high-performance materials in the production of the company’s premium tyre ranges.

These ‘special’ ContiRe.Tex tyre patterns are being exclusively manufactured at Continental’s plant in Lousado, Portugal, with a special logo of ‘Contains Recycled Material’ on the sidewall.
