Lubin Ozoux, CEO of Dunlop Tyres SA Appointed Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) Executive Officer

Lubin Ozoux, CEO of Dunlop Tyres SA, has been appointed as a Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) Executive Officer. He will continue to steer the Dunlop Tyres SA operations, as well as fulfill the responsibilities of SRI Group Executives.

SRI is the Japanese-listed parent company of Sumitomo Rubber South Africa (SRSA) that owns Dunlop Tyres SA. This move strengthens the link between our global operations.

“Lubin-san’s high commitment and huge efforts in SRSA, together with a people focus which is a cultural fit to the SRI Group, attests to SRI’s confidence in his ability for the role of SRI Executive Officer. We believe he will lead SRSA towards its long-term sustainability and support SRSA’s contribution to the SRI Group,” said Tsunehiko Nakanishi, Vice President – Head of Governance at SRSA, expatriate from SRI.

The announcement comes after SRI recently acquired the DUNLOP trademark and rights for four-wheel tyres in Europe, North America, and Oceania from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. This $526 million (approximately R10 billion) deal, finalised on 8 January 2025, positions our Dunlop brand for strategic global growth.
